Berlin Year of Science 2010: over 450 special events
This year in Berlin it’s all about science and the city’s inspiring scientific institutions. To mark the anniversaries of the five oldest scientific institutes in Berlin, the city is Capital of Science in 2010. The Berlin State Library is celebrating its 350th anniversary, the Charité hospital and the Academy of Sciences their 300th anniversaries, the Humbold University is 200 years old and the Max Planck Institute is celebrating its centenary. All of these respected institutions will be opening their doors to visitors.
The calendar for the Year of Science features over 450 special events; highlights include the “Science Days in South-West Berlin”, the “Long Night of Science” and the exhibition “Universal Knowledge” at the Martin-Gropius-Bau.
