Tanz im August
Until 3 September 2010
The Tanz im August 2010 festival has two main focuses: some performances examine the issue of human rights, others the history of dance.
Don Juan
Love is the topic of this year’s open air season at the Hexenkessel amphitheatre. Molière’s “Don Juan”, the legendary seducer, is an excellent choice: the man can’t help spreading his love indiscriminately. Matthias Horn plays the lecherous old philanderer.
Qi - A Palace Fantasia
Friedrichstadtpalast
Qi – A Palace Fantasia is variety theatre at its very best, most entrancing. A fast-moving, brilliant kaleidoscope which features big emotions, humour and popular songs – from pop to classical and tango, all brought together in a striking, bold production. It’s the longest chorus line in the world – but not as we know it!
Dirty Dancing
Theater am Potsdamer Platz
The unashamedly romantic story of sexy dances and first love is back – and it’s better than ever! The love story of Johnny and Baby became an overnight sensation when it hit the cinemas. Eleanor Bergstein, the scriptwriter, also worked on the libretto for this bubbly, romantic musical show – so fans know they can expect the very best!
Musical "Manitu’s Shoe" •
Theater des Westens
In December the blood brothers Abahachi and Ranger pitch their tents at the Theater des Westens. When it screened in Germany, this amusing parody of the popular Karl-May western films of the 60s attracted more an audience of more than 11 million. Now "Der Schuh des Manitu" (Manitu’s Shoe) has been rewritten as a musical.

arena Berlin
